Don’t be a Victim of Racial Discrimination in Employment!
If you have been fired without a good reason or based on unlawful discrimination, you may have been wrongfully discharged and you can contest your firing. Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 151B, Section 4, it is unlawful for an employer to discriminate against an employee because of one’s race and/ or national origin. See L’Mar Lay v. Motti Electric Co., 2005 WL 4134805 (Mass Super.), Plaintiff was an electrical apprentice who worked 2.5 years for Defendant. Plaintiff was the only black employee. Plaintiff claimed he endured racial jokes and taunts, including those from his supervisors, “ni***** make me sick”, “boy” and asked if he could be called “lawn jockey”. Plaintiff claimed he was discriminated against and was subjected to a hostile work environment. The jury awarded Plaintiff significant damages in addition to all of his attorney’s fees and costs.
